For over 30 years, commissioning management has been recognised as an essential part of the process of transitioning a building from completion to full operation and occupancy.

Commissioning management is both technically and project management intensive, so the most dedicated and skilled engineers are able to succeed as commissioning managers and consultants.

Our origins

In 2004, Core Group’s founding directors came together from diverse building services backgrounds, each having followed their own unique path to commissioning management. Crucially, all had direct experience in commissioning and testing roles earlier in their careers.

This experience gave our founders a deep understanding of the vital role of commissioning management in construction and infrastructure projects. They also recognised that certain aspects of the industry could be significantly improved.

From the outset, they aimed to drive positive change in several key areas:

• Bringing in only the most qualified managers and engineers in the industry

• Providing clear, easy-to-understand commissioning progress reports

• Ensuring consistent and uniform management reporting tools across all projects, phases, and STAR Group teams

• Delivering services that are 100% impartial and always client-focused
