This is especially the case with the world of luxury hotels, where complex yet discretely-installed systems not only work together to provide optimum comfort, safety, and security, but must also operate with zero intrusion to guests.

Peninsula Hotel, London
Overlooking Hyde Park Corner and Wellington Arch, this opulent 190 room hotel was constructed for Hong Kong & Shanghai Hotels in the heart of Belgravia.
Guest rooms include bespoke furnishings, mahogany-panelled dressing rooms, and state-of-the-art in-room technology with bedside touchscreen controls for lighting control, temperature, TV streaming and e-concierge service.
The Peninsula Spa and Wellness Centre offers an array of therapies, massage rooms, personal trainers, a fully-equipped gym and 25 metre swimming pool.
Core Group was appointed by Prime Development Ltd, the project manager, to oversee MEP commissioning and author the online operation and maintenance manuals.
Savoy Hotel, London
A total refurbishment of the 130-year old landmark hotel on the Strand, London, the Savoy was completely emptied and taken back to its early structure, then stabilised.
This was followed by the complete restoration of the entire building – from the magnificent entrance to the 268 guest rooms and the kitchens – bringing the Savoy Hotel back to its former, dazzling glory. Numerous bars and restaurants, and the swimming pool, spa and gymnasium facilities, are of the highest quality.
The refurbishment included the addition of a luxury two-bedroom Royal Suite, 38 river suites and guest rooms overlooking the Thames, and the addition of nine ‘personality’ suites paying tribute to notable guests.
All MEP systems were stripped out and replaced, and Core Group were appointed by the client, Fairmont Hotels, to orchestrate and validate the commissioning.
The Gainsborough Bath Spa, England
The opulent, 5-star Gainsborough Bath Spa hotel consists of interconnected Grade II Listed buildings in the heart of the World Heritage Site of Bath.
Featuring impressive Georgian and Victorian façades, the buildings have undergone centuries of change; originally the Royal United Hospital and Bellott’s Hospital, but later repurposed as a hotel, a grand residence, a school and home for nurses, and a hostel.
This complex project for YTL Hotels involved the sensitive conversion and modernisation of these historic buildings into a truly stunning five-star hotel. The luxurious Bath House taps into the original Roman Bath, making The Gainsborough the only UK hotel with direct access to natural thermal waters.
The hotel features around 100 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, a Michelin-starred restaurant, bar and fitness centre, as well as an ice chamber and traditional treatment rooms.
Core Group were appointed as commissioning managers by the main contractors.
Bulgari Hotel, London
A masterclass in elegance, this landmark new-build property is surrounded by Hyde Park and was conceived and constructed as a luxury hotel.
With a façade featuring Portland stone and bronze, the hotel houses stylish rooms and suites, spa and steam rooms, gymnasium, swimming pools, events ballroom, a private cinema, multiple restaurants and bars, and even a cigar room.
Innovative methods of sustainable luxury are employed throughout the building, developed according to best practices of the BREEAM building certification criteria.
Core Group were appointed by the client’s project managers Prime Development to orchestrate and validate the commissioning.
