COMMISSIONING MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Mechanical systems
For decades, Core Group have delivered comprehensive commissioning management services at the highest possible level, meeting the demands of increasingly complex projects, right across the world.
This vast bank of experience allows us to ensure that all mechanical systems are installed, tested, and function according to original design specifications and performance requirements.
Our highly-skilled mechanical engineers oversee the inspection, functional testing, and fine-tuning of all mechanical equipment to guarantee safety, efficiency, and reliability. They collaborate with other disciplines to address mechanical issues, validate system integration, and ultimately ensure that mechanical systems are ready for handover to the client or operational team.
We offer full-spectrum commissioning management for all mechanical systems, including:
LTHW systems
In building design and construction, Low Temperature Hot Water systems are heating systems that use water at lower temperatures to distribute heat throughout a building, delivered via radiators, underfloor heating, or fan coil units. More energy-efficient than traditional high-temperature systems, LTHW systems can integrate well with renewable energy sources, such as heat pumps.
Chilled water systems
Designed to provide efficient, centralised cooling for large buildings, these systems are used for cooling indoor spaces by circulating chilled water through air handling units or fan coil units. Most systems consist of a chiller to cool the water, pumps to circulate the water, and distribution piping.
Condenser Water
Essential for energy efficiency and effective climate control in commercial and industrial buildings, condenser water systems are used to remove heat from air conditioning and refrigeration systems. These systems typically involve a closed loop of water that absorbs heat from the refrigerant in chillers and, transfers this heat to a cooling tower or heat exchanger.
Supply and extract ventilation
Integral to building design and energy efficiency, these systems ensure indoor air quality and comfort. A supply system brings fresh air into a building, while an extract system removes stale air. Together, they help maintain air circulation, regulate temperature, and control humidity.
Smoke Extract
Of critical importance in any construction project, extraction systems use mechanical ventilation, fans, and ducts to extract smoke and remove heat from affected areas and direct it outside or to safe zones – ensuring occupant safety and compliance with fire safety regulations.
Toilet Extract Systems
These are specialised ventilation systems that manage and remove air pollutants, moisture and odours from restroom areas. Systems typically use exhaust fans or ducts to ensure proper air circulation, and they maintain hygiene by directing stale or contaminated air out of the building, improving indoor air quality and comfort.
Ground source heat pumps
GSHPs are used in commercial building design to provide energy-efficient heating and cooling. They work by transferring heat to or from the ground through a system of pipes buried underground – leveraging the relatively stable temperature of the earth to reduce energy consumption, lower operating costs, and reduce the carbon footprint of a building.
