Fire safety systems

Fire safety systems are critical components in construction projects, safeguarding both the building and its occupants by ensuring that buildings are equipped to detect, suppress, and manage fires effectively.

These systems typically incorporate: smoke, heat and flame detection; sprinklers that provide the first line of defence in controlling the spread of fire; risers that allow firefighters to pump water quickly during a fire emergency particularly in high-rise buildings; smoke curtains; and gas suppression systems for areas where water-based systems could cause damage.

In the context of commissioning management, this involves overseeing the proper installation, testing, and certification of these systems to ensure they operate as intended.

Commissioning management also ensures that fire safety systems meet regulatory standards, function correctly, and are integrated effectively with other building systems, before the project is handed over for occupancy. At this stage we may also provide training for facility staff, and produce documentation for operational fire safety procedures.
